LEBANON, Ill. – The UIndy softball team (25-7, 16-2 GLVC) launched four long balls Sunday to record wins of 7-0 and 10-2 at McKendree (13-18, 7-12).  Junior Taylor Russell accounted for two of the round trippers – one in each contest – to help the Greyhounds extend their win streak to 12.

GAME 1
With starting pitcher Morgan Foley once again dealing, the Greyhounds never trailed in the opening game.  UIndy scored in each of the first three innings, highlighted by a two-run homer by Russsell in the third.  The UIndy designated player added another extra-base hit and third RBI with an RBI double in the seventh.

Sophomore Jenny Thompson racked up three hits, two ribbies and a run in four plate appearances on the day, while junior Casey Williamson reached base three times and had two stolen bases.

Foley (18-4) got the win after tossing 5 1/3 innings of scoreless ball.  She struck out 10 and walked just two.  Sophomore Coryn Tirpak took over to get the final five outs and complete the two-hit shutout.

GAME 2
The Hounds displayed even more fireworks in game two, racking up three homers and two doubles.  After both Williamson and Russell went yard in the first, freshman shortstop Tayler Weck squared one up in the third inning for her first collegiate home run.  Weck's two-run blast put the Hounds up 7-0 and ended the day for McKendree starter Susan Goetze (3-5).

Senior Morgan Lewis (7-3) garnered the pitching win with a complete-game effort.  She K'd six in as many innings, while only one of her runs allowed was earned.

Russell, Thompson and Weck each recorded four hits in Sunday's two games combined, with Russell adding six RBI and Williamson scoring five runs.

The Greyhounds have one more weekend road trip before ending the 2014 regular season with 10 straight home games.  UIndy travels to Maryville Saturday, Apr. 12 for a twin bill starting at 1 p.m. E
