ABOUT SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
With the Hounds rolling, the Bearcats are still searching for their first win of the season. They are currently at the bottom of the GLVC rankings in scoring offense (14.1 ppg), total offense (262.4 ypg) and turnover margin (-6).
Southwest Baptist is just two seasons removed from a conference championship and an NCAA playoff berth. The Bearcats shared the 2016 GLVC title with Truman and went on to make their first-ever DII postseason appearance in what finished as a 10-2 season.
Currently an associate member of the GLVC in football only, the league announced recently that Southwest Baptist will soon be making the move to full-time membership, starting GLVC competition in all its sports in the fall of 2019. The Bearcats are currently competing in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).
HOUNDS vs. BEARCATS
UIndy owns a 3-1 advantage in the young all-time series. Last season's meeting ended in a decisive
45-17 Greyhound win in Indianapolis. After giving up a touchdown on the game's opening drive, the Hounds rolled off 28 consecutive points in the first half to take control. Five different Greyhounds would finish with at least one touchdown, with two coming on receptions by
Malik Higgins.
Prior to last year's lopsided final, the previous two match-ups between the Hounds and the Bearcats were decided by four points or less. UIndy held off Southwest Baptist in a 26-24 win at Key Stadium in 2015 before coming up just short in a 41-37 loss at SBU in '16.
LAST TIME OUT
UIndy handed visiting McKendree a
48-10 defeat last Saturday at Key. The Greyhounds held the GLVC's top offense to 270 yards below its season average while racking up a gaudy 446 rushing yards, most in the nine-year tenure Head Coach Bob Bartolomeo.
WHAT A RUSH
UIndy's rushing total versus McKendree was boosted by a pair of 100-yard rushers in
Toriano Clinton (182 yds) and
Al McKeller (137). The pair combined for five rushing touchdowns and an average of 12.3 yards per carry. For the season, McKeller tops the GLVC in rushing at 106.0 yards per game, while Clinton vaulted up to fourth at 67.8 ypg.
SPECIAL NIGHT
Clinton's performance last weekend goes from impressive to historic when you add in his special teams contributions. The Calumet, Ill., native became the first Hound since at least 1983* to notch two kickoff return TDs in a single game. His 362 all-purpose came just two yards short of matching the program record set by Craig Cothron versus Northwood back in 1998.
Clinton later became the first football player in GLVC history to garner multiple Player of the Week awards on the same day, as he was named both the top offensive and special teams performer by the league. He was also dubbed Division II Special Teams Player of the Week by D2Football.com. He is tied for the DII lead in kickoff return TDs on the season as one of only three student-athletes with three such scores.

D-FENSE, D-FENSE
The Hounds easily pace the GLVC in scoring defense heading into the weekend, with its 14.4 points allowed per game representing nearly a full touchdown fewer per contest than allowed by second-place Missouri S&T (21.2 ppg). UIndy's average is also good for seventh in all of Division II, its highest national ranking in the category since it finished 2013 as the DII leader at 13.3 ppg allowed.
Currently, five of DII's top nine schools in scoring defense hail from Super Region Three, including Nos. 1 and 2 Ouachita Baptist (9.5 ppg) and Northwest Missouri State (11.4 ppg).
