22 UIndy Greyhounds (3-1, 2-0) at Missouri S&T Miners (4-1, 1-0)
Saturday, Oct. 6, 8 p.m. ET, Rolla, MO
ON TAP
The 22nd-ranked Greyhounds take their three-game win streak on the road when they travel to Missouri S&T for a meeting with the Miners Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
ROAD GAMES
This week's match-up marks the first of a lengthy stretch of away games for the Hounds. After playing the last three games in the comforts of Key Stadium, UIndy will now be on the road for four of its next five contests. Just two home games remain on the regular season slate: an Oct. 20 tilt with McKendree and the finale against non-conference Hillsdale Nov. 10.
ABOUT MISSOURI S&T
S&T enters the weekend with a 4-1 record, including a 1-0 mark in conference. The Miners opened GLVC play last week with a 48-23 win at Southwest Baptist. S&T generated 609 yards of total offense on the day, good for the third-highest sum in school history. Senior Tyler Swart, the Miners' 6-4, 260-pound quarterback, threw for 448 yards and five touchdowns, three of which went to senior wideout Braxton Graham.
On the season, S&T leads the GLVC in total defense (275.8 ypg) and ranks second in scoring defense (22.4 ppg). UIndy, meanwhile ranks second (294.0 ypg) and first (16.8 ppg), respectively, in the two categories. Furthermore, the Miner defense is allowing just 61.4 rushing yards per contest and a miniscule 1.7 yards per carry as well as generating 20 sacks on the year, all of which top the GLVC.
Missouri S&T was the only other GLVC team besides UIndy to receive a first-place vote in the league's
preseason coaches poll.
HOUNDS vs. MINERS
The Hounds have yet to lose to the Miners, going 6-0 since they first hooked up in 2012. Each of the last two contests have been decided by 10 points or fewer, including a
43-34 home win for the Hounds last November. UIndy faced a season-high 11-point deficit at the half but outscored the Miners 23-0 in the third quarter alone. The Hounds recovered a pair of S&T fumbles in that fatal third period while racking up six of its season-high seven sacks in the second half.
LAST TIME OUT
UIndy won its third straight with a
41-17 Homecoming win versus Lincoln last Saturday. The Greyhounds racked up nearly 500 total yards while scoring 41 points for the second consecutive week. The result gave them wins their last eight Homecoming contests and 12 of their last 13.
ASK & HIGGINS SHALL RECEIVE
One big reason for the offensive output was
Malik Higgins. Senior receiver became the first Greyhound since All-American
Reece Horn (2014) to notch back-to-back games with three TD catches. Higgins now has 27 career receiving touchdowns, moving him past Greyhound legend Dick Nyers into third place on the UIndy all-time list. Higgins is also in the top five in program history in receptions and receiving yards. Check below to see how close he is to all three school records.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT
Last week, UIndy wasted no time giving the Homecoming crowd a reason to cheer, as freshman
Toriano Clinton returned the opening kickoff 99 yards to the house. The play netted the Calumet, Ill., product GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. It marked the longest kickoff return by a Greyhound since 1982 when Dave Horvarth set the school record with a 100-yard return at Valparaiso.
KICKING CONCERNS
Redshirt-freshman kicker
Paul Buisman provided six points of his own versus Lincoln. Filling in for injured senior
Jacob LaFree, Buisman went     3-for-3 in extra point attempts before connecting on a 35-yard field in the fourth quarter. Buisman also handled punt duties admirably, averaging 39.0 yards on two attempts.
POLL POSITION
The Hounds held steady at No. 22 in the
AFCA Division II Top 25 Poll this week. UIndy is again one of nine Super Region 3 teams in the top 25. Half the teams in the top eight hail from SR3, including Grand Valley State (2), Ferris State (3), Ouachita Baptist (6) and Pittsburg State (8).
UIndy's program record of consecutive weeks in the coaches poll was increased to 18. The last time the Hounds were not in the top 25 was the 2017 preseason poll.
