Higgins and staff add two more to 2019 recruiting class

INDIANAPOLIS – Head coach John Higgins announced the signing of two more student-athletes to the UIndy men's soccer program Friday afternoon. Bryan Moreira and Makel Rasheed join a trio of signees from New Zealand as part of Higgins' 2019 signing class.

Higgins on the impact Moreira and Rasheed will have on the program, "really excited about the additions of these two to our class. Both players are talented enough to help us as freshmen but more importantly they are the right fit for us from a cultural and academic standpoint."

Moreira is a 5'10 midfielder that comes to the Hounds by way of Montverde Academy in Florida. Rasheed is a 6'3 center back that brings creativity to UIndy, coming to the Circle City from Rockville, Maryland after playing in Virginia.

Moreira
"Bryan is a very creative midfield player who is able to unlock defenses with his passing ability," said Higgins about Moreira. "He is really comfortable with the ball and will help us dominate possession in the middle of the field."

Rasheed
"Makel brings a great combination of athleticism and composure on the ball which is really hard to find at the center back position," Higgins said about Rasheed. "Makel will help us build from the back with his decision making and will also win his one-on-one duels."
