GRAND LAKES, Colo. - After riding a six-game winning streak, the UIndy women's lacrosse team has dropped from No. 8 to No. 15 in the latest IWLCA rankings. The Hounds fell to then-No. 16 Grand Valley on Thursday before losing to Tiffin on Saturday. UIndy has also moved to No. 20 in the newest Nike/US Lacrosse poll.
This marks the second time this season the Greyhounds have been ranked No. 15 and first instance the team has been outside the top-10 since March 12. The Greyhounds are now 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in the GLIAC.Â
Delaney Davidson (24) and
Grace Gunneson (20) lead the team in scoring so far in 2018, while
Lauryn Hardoy paces the Hounds with 32 points (17 goals, 15 assists). The Greyhounds have been one of the best defensive teams in the country this season, allowing just 9.2 goals per game and winning 65.5 percent of all draw controls, led by
Peyton Romig with 84 wins. The squad is scooping up 20 ground balls per game, with
Riley McClure leading the way with 3.0 each contest.
UIndy has three conference games on the schedule for the week, beginning with McKendree on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to begin from Lebanon, Ill. at 5 p.m. ET.
