INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced their end of season awards Thursday night at their postseason banquet in Jeffersonville ahead of Friday's conference semifinal games. The UIndy women's soccer team took home three of the four major awards given out by the conference while leading the league with seven all-GLVC recipients as well.

Taylor Peck was named GLVC offensive player of the year for her efforts in 2019. The Oswego, Ill., native led the GLVC in goals on the year with nine scores as well as six game-winners for the Hounds. Peck was named offensive player of the week three-times to close out the regular season as UIndy went on to a 13-3-1 mark on the season. While also being a unanimous first-team all-GLVC selection, Peck becomes the first Greyhound to win the offensive player of the year award since it was split into offensive and defensive accolades back in 2009. The last Greyhound to win a player of the year award was Jenna Silverman back in 2003.

Sophia Saucerman was voted freshman of the year by GLVC coaches for her efforts between the pipes for the Greyhounds this year. After deciding to stay home in Indianapolis for her collegiate career, Saucerman became an immediate contributor this season. The Cathedral graduate registered six shutouts this season for the Crimson and Grey, winning back-to-back defensive player of the week honors from the GLVC at the end of the regular season. Saucerman becomes the first UIndy player since Shelby Spinelli in 2009 to be named the league's newcomer of the year.

The final major award to go to the Hounds this evening was the coach of the year honor, going to
Holly Cox. Cox had the Greyhounds ranked 25th in the nation at the end of the year, the first time the program had been ranked since she took over the program. After missing the conference tournament just a season ago, Cox took a team that was picked to finish 10th in the preseason conference to begin the year and turned them into a league power, finishing 2nd in the GLVC with an 11-3-1 record in league play.
