INDIANAPOLIS – After a record-setting performance over the weekend, the Great Lakes Valley Conference awarded junior Lauren Bailey with the first GLVC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week award of the season. Bailey was awarded the honor twice last indoor season.

Bailey's performance included a new UIndy record at the GVSU Holiday Open last Friday, eclipsing her own mark in the women's 5,000 meter run. Her final time of 16:17.7 was also 13 seconds under the automatic qualifying time for the upcoming NCAA DII Indoor Championships in March. Bailey currently ranks first in the GLVC and second in Division II in the event.

The Greyhounds will be back in action this weekend to kick off the winter break season, starting Friday at the Hoosier Open. The UIndy teams will compete in the ARC on Saturday, the first event starting at 12 p.m.
