INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy track & field team divided its forces to two separate meets this weekend, traveling to Bloomington, Ind., for the Hoosier Open Friday and hosting the UIndy Winter Break Meet on Saturday. The Greyhounds combined to set four school records in the calendar year's final week of competition, all coming on the women's side.
HOOSIER OPEN
With the distance runners heading to IU, the Greyhound women went 2-for-2 in event titles, setting program marks in both 3,000-meter run and the mile. Junior
Lauren Bailey shattered her own school record with a winning time of 9:38.79 in the 3K. California Baptist-transfer
Berenice Cleyet-Merle also etched her name in the UIndy record books, posting an NCAA provisional time of 4:47.60 in the mile, shaving nearly four seconds off the old mark.
The men only competed in one event at the Hoosier Open, running in the 3K.
