KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Appearing in the program's first national semifinal game last week in Pittsburgh, the UIndy men's soccer team earned their highest-ranking in program history in the final United Soccer Coaches poll. The Hounds went from unranked to No. 4 in the nation after finishing the season with a 16-6-1 record.
Â
The No. 9 seeded Greyhounds did not have an easy road to Pittsburgh. After coming back to beat Fort Hays State for the program's first NCAA tournament win, the Hounds had to go up against No. 1 seeded Lake Erie on their own field. After shutting out the Storm in northern Ohio, UIndy made the shorter trip down to Louisville to take on Ohio Valley before beating GLVC foe Maryville for the first time in their last three meetings. Their season came to an end losing to national runner-up Cal State LA last Thursday night after being the talk of the men's tournament for weeks for their incredible run.
