PERRY, N.Y. - The UIndy men's lacrosse team has moved up one spot to ninth in the latest USILA poll, it was announced on Monday morning. The Greyhounds have begun the season with three straight wins, including a 9-8 victory over Lincoln Memorial this past Saturday at Key Stadium.Â
UIndy remains 10th in the US Lacrosse Magazine/Nike poll that was also released on Monday.
After beginning the season at No. 20, the Hounds have jumped inside the top-10 for the first time in program history. UIndy moved to No. 10 last week after knocking off No. 3 Seton Hill in overtime.Â
Drew Billig and
Parker Kump continue to pace the Greyhounds in scoring with eight goals, while the former leads the team with 11 points. Senior
Shawn Kimble has netted seven goals the past two contests. Faceoff specialist
Robbie Berardi has been key in the early going for UIndy, earning 68.3 percent of the wins inside the circle.Â
The Greyhounds host No. 8 Mercyhurst this Saturday afternoon at Key Stadium for the team's first-ever top-10 battle. The Lakers dropped from seventh in last week's poll.
