COLUMBUS, Ind. – Led by top-10 finishes by the Carroll brothers, the UIndy men's golf team (299-291) secured runner-up honors at the Parkside Spring Invitational, held Sunday and Monday at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.

Freshman
Cam Carroll (78-69) notched his first career top-five finish, using a second-round 69 to vault into a share of fifth place among the mostly-Midwest-Region field of 83 golfers and 12 teams. His older brother
Ian Carroll (73-75) finished a single stroke behind at +4, good for seventh place.

Both were topped by medalist James Ian (71-72) of Bellarmine, who took medalist honors at -1, leading the Knights (295-292) to the team title by three strokes.

Other Greyhounds in a hunt included sophomore
Oliver Mast (76-73) and junior
Spencer Klimek (75-74), who both finished at +5 to share 12th position. Junior
Erik Edwards (75-76) rounded out the UIndy lineup players with a seven-over, 21st-place finish.

Seven other Hounds made the short trip down I-65 to compete as individuals. Freshmen
Kyle Wensel (76-75) and
John Roder (78-73) led the group, matching Edwards' total to share 21st. Meanwhile, senior
Reid Lorey (81-73) carded a second-round 73 to move up to 43rd.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will host their annual tournament at Purgatory Golf Club in Nobleville, Ind., next week, with action running from Sunday through Tuesday, April 7-9.
