INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 7 UIndy men's lacrosse team debuted at No. 6 in the first regional rankings of the season, the NCAA announced on Wednesday afternoon.

It is the first time in the program's four-year history that the Greyhounds have appeared in the regional poll.

The sport of men's lacrosse in NCAA Division II consists of the North and South regions, with the Hounds competing in the latter. UIndy has racked up a 9-1 record against in-region opponents, with its only loss coming at Belmont Abbey, who ranks second in the poll. The Greyhounds have also picked up wins over Seton Hill and Mercyhurst, who appear as the fourth and fifth ranked teams in the North, respectively.
Six teams from each respective region advance to the NCAA tournament, with first round games scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, on campus sites.

Parker Kump leads the team with 59 points, while freshman
Drew Billig has registered 36 on the season. The Hounds are back in action on Friday when they host Rockhurst at 3 p.m.
