LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Riding a nine-game winning streak, the UIndy softball team (36-10, 14-4 GLVC) vaulted seven spots in this week's NFCA Division II Coaches Poll, coming in at No. 9. The ranking represents the Greyhounds' first appearance in the national top 10 since March of 2017 as well as their highest spot in the weekly poll since being ranked No. 2 late in the 2016 campaign.
The Hounds now have appeared in the top 25 for eight straight weeks. They are the highest-ranked Midwest Region team in the poll, topping Grand Valley State (No. 15) and Southern Indiana (21). Meanwhile, West Florida (39-5) remained at the top of the rankings, earning 15 of 16 first-place votes.
