INDIANAPOLIS – For the second straight week, the UIndy softball team came in at No. 2 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings, released Wednesday. GLIAC-leader Grand Valley State remained at No. 1, while GLVC-rival Missouri-St. Louis leapfrogged to the third spot.
When the full NCAA field is announced May 6, the region's top eight teams will be paired off into two double-elimination tournaments, held on campus sites May 9-11. The winners of two sub-brackets will advance to face off in a best-of-three Super Regional May 16-17 to determine the Midwest's representative at the 2019 NCAA Softball Championships, held in Denver on May 23-27.

Having qualified for each of the last 11 NCAA regionals, the Greyhounds boast the longest postseason streak in the Midwest. They captured two regional crowns in that span, winning the Midwest title in both 2009 and 2015.
