PERRY, N.Y. - After its second straight GLVC championship with a victory over No. 14 Rockhurst on Sunday, the UIndy men's lacrosse team jumped two spots to No. 4 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll that was released on Monday morning. The Hounds continue to make program history with each bump in the rankings, trailing just Limestone, Adelphi, and Le Moyne in the coaches poll.
The Hounds also rank fourth in the most recent U.S. Lacrosse Magazine/Nike poll that was announced on Monday.
UIndy is on a current nine-game winning streak, with three of those victories coming over ranked opponents. The only blemish on the Hounds' record this season came at the hands of Belmont Abbey, who was ranked No. 11 at the time. The Crusaders are now ninth in the USILA poll.
The Hounds now have six players with at least 30 points this season, led by
Parker Kump and his program-record 71 tallies.
Erich Wiitala leads all non-faceoff specialists with 50 ground balls, while
Jordan McKenzie has caused 20 turnovers this season.
Robbie Berardi - who has gotten the upperhand on both occasions against GLVC Specialist of the Year Zach Bodeau - has secured 68.9 percent of his attempts at the x in 2019.
The regular season concludes this Saturday at No. 1 Limestone. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Gaffney, S.C.
