INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced its year-end awards Wednesday, with sophomore

Erik Edwards was added to the list of All-GLVC honorees while junior
Spencer Klimek was dubbed the team's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award nominee.
Â
Mast is wrapping up a breakout sophomore campaign for the Hounds. The Fortville, Ind., native is averaging a team-best 72.8 strokes per round and has nine top-10 finishes and four top fives to his credit this season. He tied a record at the GLVC Championships with a seven-under 209, an has helped UIndy to the No. 1 seed in the Midwest heading into regionals.
Â
This marks the second straight year a Greyhound has earned GLVC Player of the Year accolades and the 13th overall.
Â
Edwards picked up his second straight All-GLVC nod after compiling a 74.2 stroke average seven top-10 showings and twice garnering GLVC Player of the Week honors. He was one of five student-athletes to earn the honor via coaches vote, joining Mast and four others as All-GLVC performers after their  earlier top-five placement at GLVCs.
Â
Meanwhile, Klimek the named the team's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award Individual nominee. One student-athlete from each team was chosen for having distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced in later this week.
