FOOTBALL
The UIndy football team continued its hot start to the season, downing rival Hillsdale by a score of 48-21 at Key Stadium last Saturday night. In front of nearly 7,000 fans, the Greyhounds racked up 574 yards, including a combined 318 rushing yards from Toriano Clinton and Al McKeller.
VOLLEYBALL
The Greyhounds hosted the eight-team, 16-match UIndy Invitational in both the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center and Nicoson Hall Friday and Saturday. The Hounds went 3-1 on the weekend, including earning region wins versus Saginaw Valley and Davenport, while senior setter Alyssa Spears notched her 3,000th career assist.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Greyhounds orchestrated a 2-1 overtime win versus the 21st-ranked Bellarmine Knights Sunday afternoon. Freshman Alexi Hardie scored the golden goal in the 94th minute, good for her first collegiate score. UIndy has now opened the season 3-0 for the first time since 2009.
MEN'S SOCCER
After debuting in the DII coaches poll last week, the No. 13 Greyhounds opened conference play with a 1-1 draw against visiting Bellarmine Sunday. Sophomore Alejandro Steinwascher scored the Hounds' lone goal, finding the back of the net off a Vincent Stone pass in the 10th minute.
CROSS COUNTRY
The UIndy harriers kicked off their 2019 season last week, with both teams taking second place at the Stegemoller Classic in Evansville, Ind., on Friday. Freshman Lex Brookshire (14:36.2) led the Greyhound women with a third-place finish, while junior Will Reid (19.42.9) paced the men by finishing ninth.
WOMEN'S GOLF
The Hounds opened their fall schedule last week with a comeback win at their own UIndy Invitational, held at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Led by co-runners-up Pilar Echeverria (73-72-72) and Hunter Nugent (74-74-69), UIndy overcame a nine-stroke deficit in Tuesday's third and final round to capture the team title.
WOMEN'S TENNIS
The  women's tennis team also opened its fall season last week, hosting the UIndy Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday at nearby Center Grove High School. The Greyhounds posted 31 total wins on the weekend, including a perfect 12-0 mark on the doubles courts.
MEN'S TENNIS
The men's tennis team kicked off the 2019-20 year by taking top billing in both the singles and doubles draws at crosstown Butler. Sophomore Dario Huber downed five Division I opponents en route to the single titles, while a pair of Greyhound duos advanced to the doubles finale, which ultimately went unplayed.
SWIMMING & DIVING
UIndy's distance swimmers traveled to Lawrence, Kan., for the CSCAA Open Water National Championships. The Greyhound men finished second overall in the 5,000-meter swim, and the women ended the day 13th in the field.
