LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The UIndy softball team earned the No.12 spot in the 2020 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II Preseason Poll, released Wednesday. The Greyhounds are coming off a 49-17 season, capped by an appearance in the NCAA DII Midwest Super Regional.

Five-time GLVC Coach of the Year
Melissa Frost returns seven all-conference players from last year's team, including a pair of all-region pitchers in
Lauren Honkomp and
Hallie Waters. Frost's 2019 club racked up a 20-6 record in conference play to share the GLVC regular season title before going on to make its fourth-ever Super Regional appearance.

The Hounds are one of two GLVC teams in the rankings, as Southern Indiana grabbed the No. 21 spot after finishing 35-21 last season. Meanwhile, defending national-champion Augustana garnered 15 first-place votes to emerge as the early-season favorite. No. 2 Texas A&M-Kingsville picked up the 16th and final first-place nod.
