INDIANAPOLIS – In her first season competing as a Greyhound, UIndy junior
Berenice Cleyet-Merle garnered her third GLVC Track Athlete of the Week honor, announced by league officials Wednesday. The Cal Baptist transfer continued her string of stellar performance on the oval, including notching the fastest mile time in Division II this year.
Â
At the annual UIndy-hosted Tom Hathaway Distance Classic Saturday, Cleyet-Merle won the mile with a converted time of 4:46.06, good for the fastest mark in the nation to date. The France native and two-time All-American then ran the anchor leg of the 4x400m relay, helping the Hounds post the second-fastest time in the GLVC this season (4:05.91).

Cleyet-Merle (3) and teammate
Lauren Bailey (1) now own four of the five GLVC women's track weekly honors handed out this year.
