ON TAP
After losing two home games last weekend by single digits, the Greyhounds have a pair of key divisional games on deck, as they host Lewis on Thursday evening before traveling to McKendree Saturday afternoon.

ABOUT LEWIS
The Flyers have kicked off their fourth season under head coach Samatha Quigley Smith, getting through the opening weekend with a 1-1 mark.

One of the bright spots in the early season for Lewis has been freshman Kathryn Schmidt and her 18 points-per-game average. The 6-footer from Hampshire, Ill., is also succeeding on the boards, averaging 9.0 rebounds per with the help of a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double last time out.

The Flyers boast another freshman in Jenna Badali, who leads the team in both steals (11) and assists (13), while also placing second on the team in rebounds (5.5 rpg). Other starters include Stephanie Hart (13 ppg), Taylor Gugliuzza (12.5 ppg) and Kaitlyn Williams (2.0 apg).

Lewis is looking to follow up an impressive 19-12 record last season. Lewis earned a 14-6 record within the conference on their way to the GLVC Tournament finals appearance last spring.

HOUNDS VS. FLYERS
Lewis currently controls the all-time series versus the Greyhounds, 43-35, including wins in eight of the last 10 meetings. The teams split two regular-season meetings but the Flyers had the last laugh with a 63-50 win in the GLVC Tournament quarterfinals.

ABOUT MCKENDREE
The Bearcats will look to garner some momentum after a 12-16 record last year and starting 0-1 this season in head coach Kari Kerkhoff's sixth season at McKendree.

The Bearcats' lone contest last week came against Rockhurst, which ending in a 70-61 win for the visiting Hawks. McKendree took a quick 18-12 lead after the first quarter of play, but the lead slowly dwindled away by halftime to a strong second half by Rockhurst.

McKendree sports a strong veteran team, including senior Madison Jones. Jones led the team against Rockhurst with 17 points and a pair of steals. Redshirt-junior Sydney Diekhoff also provided a solid performance last week, adding 13 points and a pair of 3-pointers.

HOUNDS VS. BEARCATS
The quick history between the two currently belongs to the Greyhounds, who own a 8-3 lead n the all-time series. UIndy won both meetings last season, eclipsing the Bearcats by an average of seven points.

ABOUT LAST WEEK
The Greyhounds opened the 2020-21 season with two games in Nicoson Hall last weekend, falling to William Jewell Friday, 63-58, and to Truman, 76-68, two days later.

The Hounds opened up against Jewell and battled them from deep, attempting 34 shots from behind the arc in the game. That mark was the most attempts in a single game for the program since Feb. 21, 2015 at Bellarmine. UIndy converted eight of those 3-pointers, shooting 23 percent overall.

The Greyhounds finished the Truman matchup with three different student-athletes with at least 10 points in Lauren With (16), Mickey Sasson (10) and Taylor Drury (10). The Bulldogs' Hannah Belanger converted on 69 percent of her shots in the game (9-13), including an impressive 8-11 mark from three. Belanger ended the contest with 34 points overall, being the first Bulldog since 2008 to have at least 30 points in a single game.
