Men's Lax Drops Spot in Coaches Poll

BALTIMORE, Md. – Despite pulling off a thrilling season-opening 15-14 win on Sunday afternoon over Westminster, the UIndy men's lacrosse team dropped one spot to No. 9 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), released Monday.

The Greyhounds have now been in the coaches' top 10 each of the last 13 weeks, and were last ranked ninth week three of the 2019 season.

UIndy dominated the first quarter against Westminster, climbing out to an 8-1 lead before the Griffins fought back and led by one late in the final frame. Jake Zickel knotted the game at 14 apiece with just under four minutes left before newcomer Kansai Garey took a feed from Brian Robb to win it moments later.

The Greyhounds host Lake Erie on Saturday from Key Stadium for the team's home opener.
