BALTIMORE, Md. - After suffering its first loss of the season at No. 12 Wingate, the UIndy men's lacrosse team dropped five spots in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches poll to No. 15, released Monday.
The Greyhounds, now 2-1 on the young season, claimed victories over Westminster and Lake Erie over the first two weeks of the 2020 campaign. On Saturday, UIndy cut the Wingate lead to 10-7 in the second half, but could not complete the comeback, despite a hat trick from
Kansai Garey.
Rockhurst (11) and Lindenwood (14) now rank atop GLVC members in the poll, after UIndy spending the last 14 weeks inside the top 10.
Garey leads the Hounds with seven goals, while sophomore
Drew Billig currently sports a team-best 10 points.
Josh Jackson and
Jordan McKenzie each have five caused turnovers on the season, with
Jack Belobrajdic leading non-FOGOs with 15 ground balls. Redshirt-senior
Robbie Berardi tops the team with 25 GB and is winning 62.3 percent of his faceoffs.
UIndy continues its road trip on Saturday at No. 4 Mercyhurst. The Greyhounds defeated the Lakers a season ago at Key Stadiu, 11-9.
