INDIANAPOLIS—The UIndy head coach Brent Nicoson has inked two new additions to his 2022-23 men's golf roster. Drew Rowen and Jackson Watkins both signed their National Letters of Intent to join the Greyhounds next fall.
 
"Drew and Jackson are great friends and push each other in their daily grind to improve. That relationship will be a benefit for them as they work on their games in preparation for the transition and will continue when they arrive on campus. We are very pleased they are both Greyhound golfers."
 
DREW ROWEN
Out of Greenwood, Ind., and nearby Center Grove High School, Rowen will not travel far to his chosen university. The future Greyhound tasted success at the sectional, regional and state levels throughout his prep tenure, earning third place at sectionals as a freshman and later fourth at regionals and 12th at state. An all-conference and all-county honoree, he led CGHS to the 2021 IHSAA team championship.
 
Additionally, Rowen earned three top-five finishes on the Golfweek Junior Tour in 2020-21 and was ranked seventh in the Golfweek rankings this year.
 
A 3.46 student at Center Grove, Drew is the son of Sean Rowen and Karen O'Neil. He intends to major in Finance ay UIndy.

JACKSON WATKINS
Watkins is another Johnson County product, set to graduate from Greenwood Community High School this spring. The two-time all-conference and all-county performer qualified for regionals in both 2019 and 2021, while placing third at sectionals this past fall.
 
Other golf accolades include runner-up on the point-based Indiana Junior Masters Tour, a top-10 finish at the Hoosier Junior Championship and a third-place showing at the Champion's Pointe Fall Series Event.
 
Watkins has cultivated an impressive 4.26 GPA in high school and is on track to earn an academic honors diploma. He is the son of Patrick and Barbara Watkins and plans to major in Finance.

"He is a true student-athlete who will work extremely hard as he strives to become the best player he can be while at UIndy.
