INDIANAPOLIS – Five student-athletes on the University of Indianapolis men's soccer team earned an esteemed honor on Thursday as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the 2021 All-Midwest Region Teams. Dimitrios Karousos, Alejandro Steinwascher, Eli Dulle, and Makel Rasheed were all named to the First Team while Kendall Allen found a spot on the Second Team.
 
Karousos, who is a back-to-back First Team All-GLVC selection, has started in 17 matches so far this season and has recorded 40 saves alongside seven shutouts. His 0.75 goals against average (GAA) currently ranks 13th in DII.
 
Steinwascher, who is the back-to-back GLVC Offensive Player of the Year, is having a stellar season so far by amassing a team-high 12 goals and eight assists. Currently, he has scored at least one point for the Hounds in seven of his last nine matches played.
 
Dulle, a 2021 Third Team All-GLVC selection, joins Steinwascher as the only Greyhounds to start in all 19 matches this season. He has accumulated four goals and four assists so far while sitting tied for fourth on the team with 28 total shots.
 
Rasheed, the back-to-back GLVC Defensive Player of the Year, has managed five goals and three assists while leading a strong Greyhound defense so far this season. Through 19 matches, UIndy has allowed just 15 goals while teams are averaging just 6.8 shots per game.

Finally, Allen, a 2021 First Team All-GLVC selection, has appeared in all 19 matches and has notched two goals and two assists. Much like Rasheed, Allen has played a key role in the back line helping the Greyhounds dominate on defense this season.
 
The D2CCA all-region teams are nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.  The 13 members of the All-Midwest Region First Team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration.
