LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—On the heels of a record-breaking 2021 season, UIndy running back
Toriano Clinton was named a candidate for the prestigious Harlon Hill Trophy, giving annually to the best player in Division II college football. The
36-player list was released this week by the Harlon Hill Committee.

Nominated by the nation's sports information directors, Clinton is one of 13 individuals from Super Region 3 up for consideration. The candidates will be placed on regional ballots with the top two players from each of the country's four regions advancing to the national vote. The winner of the 2021 award will be announced Dec. 17 and later honored at the Little Rock Touchdown Club awards banquet on Jan. 13, 2022.

Division II leader in rushing yards per game (169.4) ... Also ranks in the top six in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (3rd, 184.6), rushing yards per carry (4th, 7.4), total rushing yards (5th, 1525) and rushing TDs (6th, 17) ... Racked up his impressive counting stats despite sustaining a season-ending injury in week 9 ... Needed just eight games to break the program's single-season rushing record ...
