NEW ORLEANSÂ - After jumping up a handful of slots last week, the UIndy women's track & field team sipped slightly in the NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TRFI) this week. The Greyhounds dropped from No. 9 to 11th in the latest TFRI, released Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).Â
The Greyhounds added three more provo cuts to their rating over the weekend  during the UIndy Classic, all coming in field events. Freshman
Zoe Pentecost joined the list of Hounds with a 18.14m toss in the weight throw, senior
Katrinia Hopkins notching her second mark in her own weight throw distance of 17.77m.
Lauren Joseph was the final student-athlete to join the current team total, becoming the second pole vaulter from UIndy off of a 3.83m performance.Â
The Hounds' other marks rank among the best in the nation, specifically DII-leading
Berenice Cleyet-Merle's 800m and
Lauren Bailey's 5K time at the top in each event. Bailey ranks third in the nation currently in the 3K, which
Brittney Clark (18th; pole vault) and Hopkins (19th; shot put) are among the nation's top 20 in their respected events as well.
The Greyhounds will compete this weekend in the UIndy Last Chance Meet, their final event before the NCAA DII Indoor Championships. The UIndy Last Chance Meet will take place on Friday and Saturday inside the ARC on campus.
