Men’s Golf Starts GLVC Title Quest Sunday

EUREKA, Mo. – The 10th-ranked UIndy men's golf team kicks off postseason play this weekend with the start of the 2021 GLVC Championships Sunday. With both team and individual conference titles on the line, the three-day, 13-team tournament will be hosted at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.

The event will feature a 54-hole stroke play portion – 36 holes on Sunday, 18 Monday – to determine both the GLVC's individual medalist as well as the four teams advancing to medal/match play. The semifinals and finals of match play will conclude the event on Tuesday.

The Greyhounds are riding a wave of momentum from the 2020-21 regular season, winning six of eight tournaments this year, including a fall regional at Fox Run back in October. Four different Hounds have earned medalist honors this season, with senior Oliver Mast earning three individual titles himself.

Owner of a league-high 16 GLVC men's golf championships, UIndy has advanced the league's medal/match play finals in six of the eight years since the conference adopted the format in 2012, included team championships in 2013, '14 and '18.

In May of 2019 – the last time the conference held a men's golf championship, the Greyhounds took runner-up honors after losing in the finals via tiebreaker against Maryville.
