ALLENDALE, Mich. – A select group of the UIndy track & field team traveled north for the Grand Valley State Extra Weekend Meet Friday and Saturday – the final competition before the upcoming GLVC Outdoor Championships.
 
Ben Nagel continued his breakout junior campaign with a first-place finish in the men's 800 meters. The Mooresville, Ind., native posted a winning time of 1:50.49, about a half second off his own school-record time. He currently ranks first in the GLVC and seventh in Division II in his signature event.
 
Junior Sam DeWitt took second in the 110 hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.69 seconds, Tyler Nolan finished 10th in the 800 (1:58.38), while Alexander Brown-Baez took fourth in his section of the 400 (52.29) and seventh in the 200 (22.43).
 
On the women's side, Ailliyah Reese also competed in two events, taking fourth in the 100 hurdles (14.85) and fifth in the 200 (26.67). In the former, teammates Maddi Turner (15.56) and Mackenzie Stien (15.64) placed fifth and sixth, respectively.
