NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced Thursday its finalists for the 2021 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by True Spec. UIndy junior
Keegan Bronnenberg found his name among just five Division II student-athletes still in consideration for the prestigious honor.
Â
The award, given annually to the nation's top collegiate golfer across Divisions I, II and III, plus the NAIA and NCJAA, is one of college golf's most esteemed honors. Recipients of the award will be announced during The Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, scheduled June 3-6.
Â
After transferring from Ball State University last fall, Bronnenberg enjoyed an historic season in his first year as a Greyhound. The Muncie, Ind., native finished in the top 15 in all 11 tournaments in 2020-21, capped by winning the program's first-ever
individual national championship earlier this month. He also matched the school record for lowest 54-hole score back in September (205, since broken) on the way to a team-best season scoring average of 72.7 – ninth lowest in the UIndy men's golf history.
Â
Other Division II finalists include Washburn's Andrew Beckler of Washburn, Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury, Trevor Norby of Oklahoma Christian and Alejandro Restrepo of West Florida. Click/tap the above link to view the complete list of finalist from the GCAA.
