A day after posting the fastest time in the preliminaries, Nagel earned his first career All-America honor with a record-breaking time of 1:49.94, shaving one-hundredth of second off the program benchmark he himself set earlier this spring. The Mooresville, Ind., product finished the outdoor season with five wins in six 800-meter races, capped by Saturday's fourth-place finish among the nation's best mid-distance runners.

The 2021 NCAA DII Outdoor Championships were held in Allendale, Mich., Thursday through Saturday on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
FRIDAY RECAP
Nagel posted a pace-setting time at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships Friday afternoon, placing first in the prelims of the 800-meter race and earning a spot in Saturday's final.

Making his debut at Nationals, Nagel led the pack with a time of 1:51.33 to win the second of two heats. The school-record holder in the event came into the week with the 12th-fastest time in Division II and will now enter tomorrow's national final will a chance at his first career All-America award as well as an event national championship.

The men's 800 final is set for 2:40 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. The field includes nine student-athletes, with the top eight individuals taking home All-America accolades.

Lauren Bailey earned All-America honors Thursday night at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, placing eighth in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 34:17.41. Competing in her final race as a Greyhound, Bailey collected her first career outdoor All-America award and fourth NCAA All-America nod overall*.

Bailey capped a stellar collegiate career Thursday, notching her third track & field All-America honor of the 2020-21 academic year. The reigning
indoor national champ in the 5,000 meter, she became the first-ever Greyhound to earn All-America honors in the 10K as well as just the fifth UIndy woman to finish in the top eight in a track event (i.e. non-field) at the national meet.
