ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The No. 10 UIndy men's lacrosse team (8-2, 8-2 GLVC) makes their final preparations before Friday's first round of the 2021 GLVC Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, taking on the No. 20 Rockhurst Hawks (8-4, 8-4) in the semifinal round on May 7 at 7:30 p.m.

UIndy is one of the four teams in the conference to earn a spot in the single-elimination tournament this weekend. No. 11 Lindenwood (9-2, 9-2) was titled as the top seed for the event, hosting the event on their campus in St. Charles, Mo. Rockhurst and Maryville (7-5, 7-5) will be seeded as the third and fourth seeds in the tournament, respectively. The Greyhounds have taken the last two GLVC titles in season's past, the last tournament happening in the 2019 season after the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Hounds rank among the top teams in Division II in a handful of statistical categories this season, their offense being known to maximize on opponent's mistakes. UIndy currently stands as the fourth-best team in converting man-up opportunities, 52.9-percent of the time scoring a goal when the outnumber their foe. The Greyhounds pounce on many opportunities on the other side of the field, the defense causing an average of 11.1 turnovers per game, ranked seventh in Division II. Goal keeper Austin Barnett has made a name for himself this season as well across the nation, ranking top 10 out of all student-athletes in goals-against average (8.54 goals per game: eighth) and save percentage (56.6-percent: 10th).

Friday's first semifinal will feature the Lions and Saints at 5 p.m., followed by the Greyhounds versus the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. UIndy split the season series with Rockhurst during the regular season, where they won 13-8 at Key Stadium but lost 9-5 in Kansas City, Mo.

Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. Individuals must be on a "will call" list (200 per team) in order to purchase tickets.
