INDIANAPOLIS – The academic awards continue to roll in for the University of Indianapolis men's lacrosse team as The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced the 2021 Academic Awards, presented by Dynamic this week. The Greyhounds earned the Team All-Academic Award while Kansai Garey and Jack Belobrajdic were named Division II Scholar-Americans.
The Hounds had another strong performance in the classroom, posting a 3.10 GPA for the 2020-21 academic year. UIndy is one of four GLVC institutions to earn the Team All-Academic Award alongside Lindenwood, Rockhurst and Davenport.
Garey is pursuing a Masters in Sports Management, carrying a 3.81 GPA. Belobrajdic boasts a 3.40 GPA while majoring in Nursing. The duo were both awarded Academic All-GLVC honors earlier this week.
This marks UIndy's first honoree since Parker Kump in 2019. Â The GLVC had seven student-athletes represented this year with Lindenwood pacing the conference with three selections.
Only 42 Division II student-athletes from across the nation were honored for the 2020-21 academic year. To be eligible for the USILA Scholar All-American, student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a senior academically.
