Greyhounds Top DII With 5 All-America Nods

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced its 2020-21 Division II All-America Awards Friday, with UIndy leading the nation with a program-record five names on the list.

Individual national-champ Keegan Bronnenberg was one of just five first-team honorees, while Oliver Mast (second team), Erik Edwards (third team), Cam Carroll (honorable mention) and Ian Carroll (honorable mention) were also recognized.

Led by head coach Brent Nicoson, the quintet helped the Hounds break the program record for winning percentage (.973) on the way to earning the team's first-ever national semifinal appearance.

UIndy's first All-America First Teamer since 2016, Bronnenberg made history this spring, becoming the very first Greyhound men's golfer to win the individual national championship. The Ball State transfer finished his first season as a Hound with a 72.70 scoring average, good for ninth in the program's single-season annals.

Oliver Mast earned his first national award from the GCAA with All-America Second Team recognition. The two-time GLVC Player of the Year ranked second on the loaded UIndy roster at 72.76 strokes per round, winning three tournaments and placing in the top six in both the GLVC Championships and NCAA Regional.

An All-America Honorable Mention honoree last year, Erik Edwards added to his impressive collegiate resume with a third-team nod in 2021. The program's first-ever four-time all-region performer finished as runner-up at this spring's DII Championships, wrapping up a five-year career in the Crimson & Grey with the fifth-best career scoring average in program history (73.70).

Michigan-native Ian Carroll orchestrated a stellar senior season, compiling a 74.62 scoring average and career-high .819 winning percentage on the way to All-America Honorable Mention accolades. He sandwiched a sixth-place performance at Nationals with his first career all-region honor and second All-GLVC nod.

Ian's brother Cam Carroll also earned honorable mention after tying for 15th at nationals. He averaged 75.93 strokes per round in 2020-21 on the way to three top-10 finishes and a .597 winning percentage.
