Hounds Top Tough Regional Field at Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – Led by co-medalist Keegan Bronnenberg, the No. 11 UIndy men's golf team pulled away Tuesday for an impressive 17-stroke win at the annual Doc Sgragg Fall Invitational, held at Finlay Country Club. The Greyhounds topped an 18-team field loaded with the region's best, with Bronnenberg earning the individual title in a sudden-death playoff.

Bronnenberg garnered his second all-tournament nod in as many events on the way to securing his first individual medal since winning the DII national championship last May.

All six Hounds – five lineup players and one individual – finished in the top 20. Jacob Nickell (74-71-69) and Oliver Mast (73-70-71) joined "KB" in the top 10, settling at -2 to share eighth place in the 93-man field. One of six student-athletes at even par, Ian Carroll (72-71-73) tied for 12th, followed closely by CJ Jones (73-73-71) at +1 and T-18.

Sophomore Bryce Robertson (74-69-75), UIndy's lone individual, fired a second-round 69 – matching his collegiate low – on the way to a share of 20th.

UP NEXT
The Greyhounds take a two-week hiatus before returning to the links Oct. 11-12 for another region-heavy tournament: the Fox Run Invitational. Held in Eureka, Mo., UIndy is the defending tournament champion.
