ORLANDO, Fla.—Senior
Cam Carroll fired a second-round 66 to lead the UIndy men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the annual McDonough Cup. Representing the final event on the Greyhounds' fall calendar, the tournament was held at Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla., Monday and Tuesday.
Carroll birdied four of his first five holes in Monday's second round on the way to setting a new collegiate low. The East Lansing, Mich., native went on to finish at -1 for the week, sharing third place and earning all-tournament honors.
The trio of
Kyle Strakis (+7),
Jacob Nickell (+8) and
Bryce Robertson (+8) finished within a single stroke of each other, placing 30th, 33rd and 33rd, respectively. All three carded a one-over 73 as their tournament low. Senior
Ethan Stanley settled at +21 to tie for 59th.
