DADE CITY, Fla.—After its yearly winter hiatus, the UIndy men's golf team returned to the links this week, taking on some of the nation's best competiton at the Saint Leo Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla. The Greyhounds finished the 54-hole tournament at +15, placing ninth in the 17-team field.
Super-seniors
Oliver Mast and
CJ Jones led the way for UIndy, sharing 16th place with a number of other golfers at -1. Mast closed his tournament with a flurry, carding a five-under 67 in round two followed by a final-round 71. His second-round scorecard featured five birdies and zero bogeys. Conversely, Jones' best round came on Monday, with his first-round 70 highlighted by an eagle on hole No. 9.
Reigning national-champ
Keegan Bronnenberg (+4) shot an even-par 72 in round two on the way to a share of 44th place. Jacob Nickel (+15, T73) and
Cam Carroll (+21, T86) rounded out the team scores, while
Ian Carroll (+17, T78) competed as an individual.
No. 5 Lee University and ninth-ranked Nova Southeastern tied at -15 to top the team leaderboard, with Lee taking the team title in a playoff.
