Last year's GLVC Indoor was canceled but in 2020, the UIndy men finished runners-up to Missouri S&T while the women placed third. Overall, the Hounds own a league-high six GLVC indoor titles, including a win in 2019, while the one indoor conference crown on the women's side came in 2009.
This year, the Greyhounds are headed up by a plethora of student-athletes looking to earn podium finishes. As expected,
Berenice Cleyet-Merle owns the top spot in the 800, the mile and the 3K, all by quite a large margin. Joining Cleyet-Merle in the distance crew rankings,
Claire Eaton sits at No. 2 for the 5K.
Emily Sonderman, who made history as part of the women's distance medley relay team earlier this year, sits comfortably at No. 4 in the conference for both the 400 and 800 meters.
Ben Nagel sits high in both the mile, where he sits fourth, and the 800 where he leads the conference.
Hurdlers are ready for some hardware as
Sam DeWitt and
Ailliyah Reese both sit within the top two of their respective event.
Lindsey Wormuth also looks to push for the podium as she sits at No. 5.
Ellie Lengerich, who has had a freshman year to remember, currently is the conferences best high jumper with a school record-setting leap in her first collegiate meet. Additionally, her shchool-record pentathlon score from last month has her postioned second in the conference in the multi-event.
Pole vault also has the bar set high with
Treyton Arnold owning the No. 2 spot on the men's side. Meanwhile, the top of the women's conference rankings are owned by the Hounds with
Brittney Clark,
Sabrina Robison,
Lauren Joseph and
Megan Young looking for a podium sweep.
The throw crew looks to put up solid numbers as well with top athletes
Keeton Adams, fourth in shot put, and
Zoe Pentecosts, No. 1 weight throw and No. 3 shot put, battling for conference medals.
