LOUISVILLE, Ky.– Another week, another pair of indoor school records fall as the UIndy track & field teams split forces between the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic and Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational.
Up north in Notre Dame, Ind. on Friday, the women's 4,000-meter DMR record fell by 14 seconds with a time of 11:33:36, posted by the crew of
Eline Pinter,
Ellie Lengerich,
Emily Sonderman and
Berenice Cleyet-Merle. The historic time was good enough for the No. 2 mark in Division II this year while shattering the previous UIndy record of 11:47:87*.
Just a day later,
Ben Nagel improved his own school record in the 800m from 1:51:89 to 1:50:84. The time puts him first in the GLVC and 10th in the nation, making him the highest-ranked Greyhound in any men's events.
Sticking with the 800 – but in Louisville, Ky.,
Harnoor Dosanjh came in second with a personal record, while for the women's side, both
Kaylin Casner and
Trinity Gleitz returned to Indianapolis with PRs to their names.
On the shorter-distance side of the meet,
Hallie Montgomery and
Josiah Adams both crossed the line with PRs;. Adams' 22.79 time in the 200 is his third meet in a row where he has improved his PR by a second. Adams was not content with just the one however, hitting a 400 meter PR for second place as well.
The mile featured multiple PRs, with
Logan Wong on the men's team hitting a 4:28:89 time, while
Mariah Judy and Casner both crushed their previous marks for PRs.
Even with the distances getting longer for the 3000 meter, the improvements did not slow down.
AJ Goecker,
Will Reid,
Andrew Bixler,
Blake Ellis and
Noah Kurtz ALL walked away with PRs in the race. The distance crew on the women's side mimicked the men's team with
Melissa Spencer beating her old PR by almost 10 seconds, and
Hannah Wells,
Hanna Stamm,
Gabrielle Harrell and
Jazlyn Gallardo-Cortez all notching new personal best.
Women's pole vault was almost identical to last week's event with
Brittney Clark winning the event, vaulting over a height of 3.90 first, while
Sabrina Robison matched her just a jump later.
Men's shot put featured
Keeton Adams tying his season best with a 16.51-meter toss, winning the event by almost half meter.
Cameron Smith netted himself a PR with a toss of 14.24 meters.
