Lagos Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

WASHINGTON—UIndy women'as lacrosse standout Abigail Lagos was among in the first round of additions to the 2022 Tewaaraton Award Women's Watch List Presented by AXIA Time, announced by The Tewaaraton Foundation this week. Though committee considers top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse, Lagos was the only non-Division-I student-athlete included on the women's list.
 
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are comprised of premier college coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
 
The top scoring threat on Division II's second-ranked squad, Lagos leads all DII players in shots per game (11.5) while ranking fifth in goals per game (5.5) and seventh in points per game (6.5). The Windham, N.H., native currently ranks third among all active DII players in career goals.

The next round of additions to the Tewaaraton Watch Lists Presented by AXIA Time will be announced on April 1. On April 21, the field will be narrowed to 25 men's and 25 women's nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
 
Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced in early May and will be invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on June 2.
