Bronnenberg’s T3 Highlights Busy Week for Men’s Golf

LEXINGTON, Ky.—The UIndy men's golf team split its forces this week, competing at both the Findlay and Butler Spring Invitationals, both held Monday and Tuesday. The "Crimson Team" placed fourth among 19 Midwest Region teams, while the "Grey Team" settled at 12th place among a mostly-DI field.

Findlay's tournament was held at The University Club of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., while the Butler event was hosted at nearby Highland Golf and Country Club on Indy's north side.

FINDLAY SPRING INVITATIONAL
The Hounds' top five plus one individual took on the region's best at Findlay's annual spring tournament. UIndy (296-282-287=865) found itself in 11th after 18 holes, but the Greyhounds finished the tourney with a pair of under-par team scores to climb to fourth place.

Reigning national-champion Keegan Bronnenberg led the way with remarkably-consistent scores of 70-70-70 to finish at -6 and share third place. He carded an eagle on hole No. 7 in the first round and racked up six birdies in the third round before finishing four shots back of medalist Joel Sylven of Missouri-St. Louis.

The Greyhounds' second-round team score as boosted by a pair of three-under 69s – one from Cam Carroll (T36) and one from Jacob Nickell (T53). CJ Jones (T40) finished his tournament with a final-round 71, while Oliver Mast (T47) had his best round when he opened the week with a one-over 73. Individual Ian Carroll (73-72-71) improved his score each round to finish at even par and tie for 12th place.

BUTLER SPRING INVITATIONAL
Six other Greyhounds were in action this week as well, making the crosstown trek to Highland. The event was shortened to 36 holes after a lengthy frost delay Monday morning.

Sophomore Bryce Robertson (74-79) and senior Collin Powers (75-78) carded matching 153s to finish at +13 and share 66th place in the 98-man field.

Ethan Stanley (+14) tied for 74th, freshman Ty Stansfield made his collegiate debut with a T88 finish, while Noah Wolfe (+20) shared 95th. Individual-competitor Jarrod Millar (+14) tied for 74th.
