MARION, Ind. – It was yet another busy weekend full of joy and PRs for UIndy track & field. The majority of the team was sent to Marion, Ind., for the annual Little State Championship, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. The Greyhound women placed third among the Hoosier State's top non-DI teams, while the UIndy men placed eighth. Meanwhile, a trio of Greyhounds went to Ohio State to take on a talented field in the 800 meter.
JESSE OWENS TRACK CLASSIC

Pinter and Sonderman finished within a second of each other, with Pinter crossing in 10th at a time of 2:13.58 versus Sonderman's 12th-place 2:13.83.
LITTLE STATE
The star of the show for this weekend was the throw squad, who brought 14 new PRs back to the Circle City. The biggest highlight being in discus by
Tyler Gilbert, who not only placed fourth but also hit a PR and a NCAA provisional mark with a toss of 50.74 meters. Alongside Gilbert,
Cristobal Munoz-Manzor,
Jacob Brouse,
Owen Butler,
Michaela Adams,
Claire Tabbit and
MaKenna Maschino all hit personal bests.
Shot put saw
Brock King and
Emily Bonser on top of the Hounds finish list, with Bonser landing in sixth and King netted himself another podium in third place. In the hammer throw, Bonser was the one to finish third with a PR of 47.59. Five other Hounds hit big personal records in the hammer, including Marck Sciutto, Brouse, Tabbit and Maschino. Javelin saw
Cara Hutson, Butler,
Tyler Nolan and
Cole Hurt all hit PRs.
Sticking with field, pole vault always is a show, and it was
Sabrina Robison who came out on top of the talented trio. Robison's 3.85-meter vault not only improved her provo mark by .04 but also landed her in first.
Brittney Clark was right behind her in second with a 3.75 mark on her first attempt. Just two attempts later,
Lauren Joseph hit the same mark of 3.75, landing her in third. On the men's side Hurt notched his second PR of the weekend with a vault of 3.55.
Ellie Lengerich finished well in both the high jump – landing in second place with a leap of 1.59 – and in the long jump, finishing fourth with a bound of 5.16.
Chandler Martin's 5.70-meter jump landed him a PR in long jump.
Makala Pfefferkorn kept her year-long momentum going as the indoor record holder for triple jump, this time landing in the dirt in fourth place with a leap of 11.05.
For the sprinters, they had some wind-adjusted times at Marion.
Hallie Montgomery was the top finisher on the women's side with a ninth-place finish.
Trevor Edgerton was the top finisher on the men's side. For the 200, Montgomery was once again the top finisher, crossing in seventh with a wind-aided 25.48. The men's side had
Josiah Adams cross in eighth.
The 400 had quality finishes on both sides, with Adams coming in at second place with a time of 49.03, good enough for a new PR. Lengerich was the leader on the women's side.
Trenton Arnold netted himself a new PR with a time of 51.11.
The 800 saw a slew of PRs.
Harnoor Dosanjh and
Devon Whitaker managed to net the exact same time, both of them finishing with a time of 1:55.36 – both being PRs. For the women, both
Emma Treibic and
Trinity Gleitz hit outdoor PRs.
In the 1500,
Aaron Trejo,
Brandon Albin and
Mariah Judy all hit personal bests. Judy's time of 4:49.30 was also fast enough for sixth place. The 5K had
Melissa Spencer make a splash with a big 15.15.12 race for second place.
Will Reid finished 10th for the men's side of the 5K, while
Hanna Stamm netted ninth and a PR to her name.
The 110 hurdles saw Samuel DeWitt place third with an identical time to what he ran last year at the same meet: 14.73w. Hurt finished sixth while
DeAndre Stroud finished tenth. For the women's 100 hurdles, Aillyah Reese held the top spot for the Hounds, crossing in third in a wind-aided 14.42 seconds.
Maddi Turner was right behind in fifth. Turner placed fifth in the 400 hurdles as well. Hurt netted his third PR of the weekend in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.10.
