INDIANAPOLIS – With the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference championship tournament underway, 12 members of the UIndy men's lacrosse team earned All-GLVC honors. Kyle Basch brought home Specialty Player of the Year once again while Drew Billig, Brendan Hackl, Josh Jackson and Caleb Parker each garnered First Team honors.
All-GLVC First Team
For the second straight season Kyle Basch was named the GLVC Specialty Player of the Year. The short stick midfielder/defended caused a team-high 20 turnovers on the year while adding 41 ground balls. Basch recorded three goals and four assists in 14 games.
Drew Billig repeats as a First Team selection after sitting second in the conference with 52 points in the regular season. The Brighton, Michigan native tallied 23 goals and 29 assists on the year to average 3.71 points per game.
In his first year with the Greyhounds Brendan Hackl was named to the First Team. The long stick midfielder caused 14 turnovers on the year along with 20 ground balls. He scored his first career goal in an April victory against Rockhurst.
Josh Jackson brings home his second straight First Team nod. The defenseman snagged 43 ground balls on the year while adding 17 caused turnovers.
Caleb Parker rounds out the First Team selections for UIndy, earning the first All-GLVC nod of his career. The face off specialist tallied 124 wins in the circle this season with a win percentage of .600. The Bixby, Oklahoma native posted two perfect games going 17-for-17 against Walsh and 12-for-12 against Rockhurst.
All-GLVC Second Team
Sophomore Wyatt Auyer earned his first All-GLVC honor of his career after ranking second in the conference with 2.71 goals per game. He led the Hounds with 38 goals on the year including a conference-leading six game winners. Auyer recorded at least one point in all but one game this year while scoring at least three goals in eight games.
Brian Robb earned All-GLVC honors for the third consecutive season. The midfielder posted six multi-point games while tallying 11 goals and 8 assists on the year.
Evan Soucy brought home Second Team honors for the first time in his career with his second straight All-GLVC selection. The defenseman caused 15 turnovers on the year along with 29 ground balls.
Goalkeeper Austin Barnett also earned his first Second Team nod of his career after leading the conference with 13 wins in net. The Huntingtown, Maryland native posted 122 saves on the year for a save percentage of .574. He allowed 84 goals in 14 games for a conference-best 6.73 goals against average.
All-GLVC Honorable Mention
Junior Ben Foster earned his first All-GLVC selection after tallying 18 goals and a pair of assists. The Sweaburg, Ontario native recorded three games with at least three goals.
Sophomore Dougie Crawford was named Honorable Mention for the second straight season. The long stick defenseman tallied 12 caused turnovers while adding 13 ground balls in 11 games.
In his final year donning the Crimson and Grey, Jake Zickel posted career-highs in goals (11), assists (10) and points (21) to earn his first All-GLVC nod. The midfielder added a trio of caused turnovers and 10 ground balls.
