LOUISVILLE, Ky.– Seven UIndy men's lacrosse student-athletes garnered recognition from the USILA Wednesday, earning inclusion on the organization's Division II All-South Region list. The Greyhounds' number of all-region honorees was second only to the University of Tampa (10).
Two-time GLVC Specialty Player of the Year Kyle Basch headlined the group, earning All-South Region First Team accolades at short-stick defensive midfielder. He was joined by Drew Billig (attack), Brendan Hackl (LSM) and Josh Jackson (defense) on the second team; and Brian Robb (midfield), Evan Soucy (defense) and Austin Barnett (goalkeeper) on the honorable mention list.
Basch, Billig, Jackson and Robb earned their second straight all-region nod, while the renaming three Hounds earned their first. Together, the septet helped lead UIndy to a 14-4 record this past season, including a GLVC runner-up finish and an NCAA regional appearance.
