INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's and women's track and field teams begin their indoor season tomorrow on campus in the Scott Fangman Invitational. The meet will be a two-day affair in the ARC with most events taking place on Saturday, Dec. 7. The Greyhounds will also recognize 22 seniors on day two.
Zoe Pentecost and
Ellie Lengerich are among the key returners for the women's team. Both student-athletes competed at Indoor Nationals last season with Pentecost being the reigning National Champion in the weight throw and USTFCCCA DII Midwest Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. Lenerich was named the GLVC Field Athlete of the Year at the conference championships and placed 10th at nationals in the pentathlon.
On the men's side,
Tom Saint-Juvin will lead the mid-distance crew after his show-stopping first-place finish in the 800m at the GLVC Indoor Championships.
Alex Meyer,
Amarion Conyers, and
Cameron Smith are some key returners for the field events.
UIndy will host one more meet on campus this season, the Gerry England Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17. The Hounds will also take on hosting duty inside the ARC for the GLVC Indoor Championships this year. The Greyhounds will continue to compete in Indianapolis with three meets scheduled at the State Fairgrounds, including the DII Indoor Championships.
