SMITHVILLE, Mo.—The UIndy men's golf team kicks off postseason play this weekend with the start of the 2024 GLVC Championships Sunday, April 21. With both team and individual conference titles on the line, the three-day, 13-team tournament will be hosted at Paradise Pointe Golf Club in Smithville, Mo.
 
The event will begin with a 54-hole stroke play portion – 36 holes on Sunday, 18 Monday– to determine both the GLVC's individual medalist as well as the four teams advancing to medal/match play round. The semifinals and finals of match play will conclude the tournament on Tuesday, crowning the 2024 team champion.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Brent Nicoson, UIndy has advanced to the medal/match play portion in 10 of the 11 seasons since the current format was introduced in 2012, including team championships in 2013, '14 and '18. Overall, the Hounds own a GLVC-record 16 men's golf titles, 10 more than the next-closest school.
 
Coach Nicoson will employ an all-freshman lineup at Paradise Pointe this weekend. The talented group of rookies has put together an impressive spring season to date, winning the SVSU Spring Break Invite back in March and earning a top-three spot in each of the last two tournaments. Both Maverick Conaway and Ben Keil have one individual win each this year, while Simon Engman was named GLVC Player of the Week back in September.
