MARION, Ind. - The UIndy men's and women's track and field teams took on other schools in Indiana at the Little State Championships. Hosted by Indiana Wesleyan the meet featured schools from DII, DIII, and the NAIA.
With 134.50 points, the women's team claimed the title. Facing 13 teams, the Greyhounds won by a margin of 10.50 points. On the men's side, the Hound took seventh with 54.50 points.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Emily Sonderman raced past her competition in the 400m, finishing in first place. Sonderman clocked 59.95, a new personal best for the senior.
Ellie Lengerich wasn't far behind her teammate in third place. Lengerich also grabbed a new person best with a time of 57.63.
Also on the track,
Hallie Montgomery finished second in the 100m with a time of 12.41. Montgomery also competed in the 200m, clocking 25.68 finishing third. Two Greyhounds grabbed third in their respective events;
Ailliyah Reese (15.00) in the 100m hurdles and
Mariah Davis (41:28.05) in the 10,000m.
In throws the Hounds took the top four placed in the hammer throw.
Zoe Pentecost claimed first (60.35m),
Audra Hogan in second (48.40m),
MaKenna Maschino finished third (48.35m), and
Emily Bonser rounded out the Greyhounds in fourth (48.32m).
In the field,
Mackenzie VanBibber was tied for second in the pole vault after clearing 3.40m.
Ellie Lengerich also took on the high jump. Lengerich placed third with a mark of 1.60m

MEN'S RECAP
Samuel Sommers was the highest male finisher for UIndy. Sommers finished second in the long jump with a mark of 6.89m. In the high jump,
Amarion Conyers cleared 1.87m to tie for third, with
Gary Lehman taking fifth in 1.82.
In the hammer throw, Camron Smith created a new personal best in the event. Finishing third, Smith reached 52.03m.
On the track,
Felix Rivet finished third in the 1500m with a time of 3:57.29.
Cole Hurt participated in the 110m hurdles taking fifth and clocking 15.59m.
Jalen Larkey also took fifth in his respective event. Larkey, in the 400m, got a time of 50.77.
