Meyer Downs 33-Year-Old Record to Cap Track & Field's Busy Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's and women's track and field team had a jam-packed weekend, attending three different meets in two days. The meets spanned the state of Indiana with stops in Indianapolis, Terre Haute, and Upland.

CROSSROADS OF AMERICA INVITATIONAL
The Crossroads of America Invitational was held by the Indiana State Fairgrounds and featured schools from all levels of the NCAA. The meet's highlight was Alex Meyer breaking a 33-year-old school record and winning the high jump. Meyer demolished the previous record of 2.08m set in 1992 by Tom Noe, after clearing 2.12m. This height also gives the sophomore a share of 10th place in Division II national rankings in the event.

On the track, Hailey Orosz finished 18th in the women's mile and set a new PR at 5:00.75. Felix Rivet ran the mile on the men's side. Rivet placed 12th after clocking 4:12.27. After setting a school record in the 800m the previous week at the Fairgrounds, Josue Le Cadre took on the event again. This week the sophomore ran a 1:49.41, good for second place.
