SMYRNA, Tenn. – The No. 3 UIndy softball team opens its 2025 slate this Friday and Saturday at the annual Music City Invitational. The eight-team, two-day event will be played at Cedar Stone Park in Smyrna, Tenn.
 
The defending Midwest Region champs kick off the event on Friday with in-region opponents Ashland and Cedarville. After a matchup versus Ohio Dominican Saturday morning, the road trip concludes versus Trevecca Nazarene—a rematch of last year's Super Regional.
 
The weekend marks UIndy's fourth consecutive appearance at the Music City Invite and its fifth overall. The Greyhounds are 13-1 all-time at the event. Click/tap here for this year's tournament homepage, which includes links to live stats.
 
The Hounds are coming off an historic 2024 campaign, one that featured a team-record 60 wins, a GLVC regular season title and the program's deepest-ever World Series run.
 
All-region second baseman Jocelyn Calvin returns to the lineup this spring, as do all-conference performers Jayden Casebolt and Shelby Cook. A whopping 13 newcomers dot the roster this season, with catcher and juco-transfer Ella Palm joining a dozen freshmen.
