INDIANAPOLIS— The University of Indianapolis men's and women's track teams opened their 2025-26 indoor season at the GVSU Holiday Open on Friday, along with hosting the second annual Scott Fangman Invitational. A total of six Division 2 provisional marks were recorded among five Greyhounds between the two meets.
GVSU HOLIDAY OPEN
Four Greyhounds made the trek to Allendale, MI, to compete in the GVSU Holiday Open, highlighted by Felix Rivets' record-breaking performance in the 3000m. Rivet earned a third-place finish, the first Division 2 finisher, and clocked an 8:11.31 in the race, beating the school record that he set under a year ago on Jan. 18, 2025, finishing the race in 8:21.48. With his opening performance, Rivet hit the D2 provisional mark and placed him within the top-10 nationally after the first weekend of the Indoor Track and Field season.
