Pentecost, Meyer Earn All-America Honors to Cap Day Two of Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's and women's track and field teams had two more student athletes finish as All-Americans on day two of the NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships.
 
The national meet is being held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds' Fall Creek Pavilion and is a part of the 2025 DII National Championships Festival. Action continues tomorrow with field events starting at noon and running events following at 2:45 p.m.
 
FRIDAY
 
Alex Meyer captured his first All-America finish during the men's long jump. Meyer set a new personal best with a mark of 7.45m in his first jump of the day. This mark carried the sophomore through finals and placed third. Meyer competed in the high jump next. He cleared his first height of 2.01m but was successful at the next height, Meyer tied for 15th.
 
Two Greyhounds competed in the women's weight throw on the second day of competition. Zoe Pentecost earned sixth All-America title after placing third in the event. Pentecost's first throw was a season's best at 19.92m which secured her podium finish. Audra Hogan also competed in the event. In her first National Championship, the senior placed 18th with a mark of 16.27m.
 
Josue Le Cadre took on the 800m preliminary race on Friday. As the sole Greyhound to qualify in an individual running event, he entered the race with the best time. Le Cadre competed in the first heat. It was a close race but the Frenchman won his heat by 0.19 seconds. Le Cadre's time of 1:50.31, the fourth fastest time going into finals tomorrow.
 
The men's distance medley relay (DMR) capped off day two of the championships. Josue Le Cadre was the lead runner for the Greyhounds, running 800m. Josiah Adams took on the 400m, followed by Tom Saint-Juvin running 1200m. The anchor for the Hounds was Felix Rivet. Saint-Juvin and Rivet helped UIndy move up from 12th to ninth during the race, competling the relay in 9:48.85.
 
THURSDAY
 
Ellie Lengerich was named All-America after finishing eighth in the competition with 3798 points. With this mark, the senior breaks her own school record she set last year at the Indoor National Championships by eight points.
 
Lengerich set two new personal bests during the competition; in the 60m hurdles and the shot put. In the hurdles, she ran a 9.09 and reached 11.33m in the shot put. The St. Leon, Ind. native had her best performance in the high jump, clearing 1.68m, placing third in the event.
